Verizon 4G - Signal Issue

I just purchased two 4G Verizon cameras (used). I have 3 - 3G cameras and have been using Spartan cameras for a number of years so I am familiar with data, credits/premium service, etc. I activated service for both 4G cameras with Verizon and was able to register each with Spartan, have plenty of credits, etc. The cameras work perfectly when I tested them (a few different times) where my mom lives. They will not acquire a signal anywhere else. I tried them beside of my 3G cameras on multiple farms that work perfectly and still no signal. I have restored to default, formatted the cards, etc. and still nothing. If I run a test it continually says 'system busy'. So, again they work fine at my moms so I know they are functional and I thought that perhaps the other areas I am trying them in (where my 3G's work) are only receiving a 3G signal. It was my understanding that all of the towers in my area have been upgraded to 4G so that would seem odd. I finally had a buddy take one of my cameras to his spot, which is close to where I've been trying mine and also where he has a Spartan 4G camera running with full bars. He put mine right beside of his and it still will not acquire a signal. The only thing I can think of at this point is to try a new sim in each. If anyone has a solution I am all ears and thank you....I know that was a lot of info. Lol

    I forgot to add that the firmware is current for both cameras.

    First thing I would try is a hello test in the cameras menu. See if that passes or fails. Also make sure that you are using a 32gb SD card that's class 10, 80mb/s or faster and a full sized card, not a micro in an adapter.

    It also can't hurt to default the camera in it's menu

    I hadn't thought about it and will have to check tomorrow, but I'm sure I have class 4 sd cards in them. I know that I will need to change those to class 10. Is that an all or nothing scenario or could it keep the camera from getting a signal in some areas? Again they work at my moms perfectly, but not beside of my friends camera that has full bars.

    SD cards can cause all kinds of issues so it wouldn't surprise if they worked in one area but not the other. I would do the hello test and see what happens with that too and we'll go from there.

    I have the correct SD card inserted and it still will only get signal in the same areas as before. Now it will not send pics. The hello test is successful each time I run it. I've set to default, formatted the card, double checked the firmware, removed and readded the camera to my account, etc.

    It won't send pictures in locations where it would send them previously? What is the cameras model number?

    Correct. Both cameras are GC-4Gi.

    If you turn the camera off and then to set up and wait for it to find signal. Press the Ok button once to take a picture and then press it again to send the picture what's it say on the screen?

    It keeps failing. The hello test is successful. I can see the camera in my account and app. I was hoping the sd card change would resolve the issue that both cameras have with getting a signal. Perhaps I should try new sim cards in them. I'm not sure why it isn't sending pics right now though.

    As soon as I reboot the camera it does send a status report to my app. Still no pics though and it has full bars where I'm at.

    So the issue with not sending pics is the new card (tried 2). I put the class 4 card in and it sends pics now.

    There’s a letter missing in the model number. Are they GC-V4Gi or GC-Z4Gi?

    Do you know what model your buddy’s camera is, whether it’s a V4G, a Z4G, or one of the Verizon Ghost models?

    The V4G was our first 4G Verizon model. The radio in it isn’t as effective as the radio in the Z4G and Ghost models. I’m running three Ghost models, one Z, and two V4G on our 20 acres (so nothing is very far from anything else). My V4G just don’t get as strong a signal as my other Verizon cameras and their send success rate isn’t as good as my other Verizon models. (My phone sometimes doesn’t get any signal at all, sometimes barely 1X or 3G, occasionally 1 bar of 4G. Verizon signal is awful there.)

    You may be running into a situation where the signal is not good in the areas where you are trying the cameras. The Hello test just connects to the network and confirms that you have signal and a data plan. It’s short so doesn’t require that the signal be very stable. Connecting to send a picture takes stronger signal.

    In the app status report, what signal strength is shown when the cameras connect when they first come on? I don’t remember what antennas those shipped with. Are they the paddle antennas or the stick antennas?

    The antennas are the paddle design and he just messaged me back. His is the Z model. I bet that's it.
