Have an older ATT Black Out , think it’s 5 years now. 

It started taking pics one right after another , pretty much on whatever the picture interval is set on.  Nothing is in front of the cam that would trigger over and over. 

anyone ever had this happen and is there a “maybe” fix , like opening it up and cleaning contacts or is this typical a sign of no hope.

  Any chance there's a T on the bottom of the picture where the M usually is? You can try defaulting the camera or updating the firmware to see if that helps. If the firmware is current you will have to do a manual update. I would try putting the camera in a closet face down to see if it triggers non stop in there. Also look and make sure that there's no ants inside the camera.

  It has the standard M as if it was motion activated.  I reset it to default settings , but it’s a buddies cam and he reloaded the settings from the ap.   I’ll pull it and bring it home next time and reset manual , the firmware was updated not too long ago but will check it as well.

  Brought it home and pointed at the ceiling and it takes a pic when the interval passes.  The PIR lens has a small intended line on it, other than that all looks normal.  Have another one that won’t power on, maybe I’ll try surgery one day and swap parts 🤪

  Like a long intended thin line, like a scratch but not a scratch.   It’s not through the plastic.

  I wonder if that's causing the false triggers. Try putting the camera face down in a closet or cabinet. Your can also try updating the firmware. I've seen that help a few times.
