3G SIM card work in a 4G ?

My 2015 ATT 3GS are dropping like flies.  No power or runaway sensors.   Actually have 3 that still work so it’s been a good run. 

I have 12 month service through ATT buy a session and prefer that method and buying credits than having the 3 month with premium added in that renews.  

If I get new 4Gs ATT, can I just swap the SIM cards and use the service already paid for ?  Assume I have register the cam for premium so the ap/server sees it , I think those key on IMIE #s ?

  You can try putting the 3g sim card in the 4g camera and see what happens. Obviously if it does work it will only be 3g

  I have 2 4Gs will try it, just hate to lose 11 month of service 🤕 on that SIM card.  I guess when ATT stops 3G in 2021 won’t have a choice.

  I wonder if you could get a 4g SIM and just change the iccid on the 3g account
