Help needed with External Battery
I have 4 GoCams and currently running with alkaline AA’s. We move these cameras around every 2-4 weeks and I’ll get anywhere from 10-200 pics a day depending on deer activity. I realize that these cameras use up batteries quickly so what are my options? I see that a 6v can be used but do i need to run that with rechargeables or with regular alkaline/lithium batteries? Can i use a 12V battery with rechargeables? Just wondering what my options are and not wanting to use solar panels since we move these things around so much. Thanks

Spartan makes a battery box that you can put a 12v battery in and it reduces the voltage to 6v for the camera. You don't want to connect a 12v battery directly to the standard model GoCams. Rechargeable are the safest to run in the camera because they are the least likely to leak. With the Spartan battery box and 12v 18ah battery I get 5-6 months and over 8000 transmitted pictures from my camera. The Ghost models will accept a 12v directly. What is your camera model (s)?

Okay nice. So i could just pop a pack of alkalines in there as a backup and hook up the 12V inside the Spartan box. Said it will last months? Also, one of cameras is just taking pictures every few minutes nonstop. I’m in Georgia so it is upper 90’s here and i changed the sensitivity to high. There’s no limbs or weeds in front to set it off. Is there anything else i should try?

Could be, I have one field that for about 10 days in the spring and again in the fall will do that. I use start/stop times to extend the delay during that time. You can also request a video from your camera if it has the video option and see if it's a stray weed or maybe birds. Also want to make sure it's not ants in the camera.
