Data plan issue.
I went to buy a data plan for my camera and When I entered the ICCID # it says to contact support? Do I just need to get an updated SIM card?
I called support and left a message. I figured maybe I could figure it on on here before they get back to me.
Thanks

Is this a new camera or one you’ve used in the past and are setting up again for the season?
What’s the carrier for the camera, AT&T or Verizon? If AT&T, is the front (non-contact) side of the SIM solid white with a little blue AT&T globe logo on it or does the front side have colors (orange, green, and/or blue)? (If it’s a Ghost, it’s a Spartan SIM, regardless of carrier, but AT&T GoCams used to come with AT&T Buy-A-Session SIMs, which can’t be used to purchase Spartan data plans.)
You probably will have to talk to support. There probably isn’t anything we can do here.

Spartan SIMs are solid white on the front with the little blue AT&T globe logo. AT&T SIMs have other colors (orange, blue, green) on the front.
You cannot use a Spartan SIM to buy a Buy-A-Session plan and you cannot use an AT&T SIM to buy a Spartan plan.
Do you have a white-on-the-front SIM or a colors-on-the-front SIM?

A card with an orange front should not have worked to purchase a Spartan data plan. Spartan has always used the white-front cards. The AT&T pool of ICCID and the Spartan pool of ICCID don't overlap.
Your call yesterday is in the system but I can't tell where in the queue it is. You will get a call back. Sometimes it takes more than a couple of hours to get a callback. Everyone is working from home.
I'm able to see a ticket from last year where you called about this same problem and the notes indicate that you were told that you have an AT&T SIM and would need a Spartan SIM in order to purchase a Spartan plan. I'm not sure how you were able to buy a Spartan plan last year with that SIM.

I have some AT&T SIMs that I can’t get plans for, either. AT&T hasn’t shared with me why that is. I do know that if I leave a camera with an expired SIM in it on my plan for more than 60 days, often I can’t reuse the SIM.
The bottom line is that you need a new SIM. If you want to start buying Spartan plans, you need a Spartan SIM. You will be able to request one when tech supports gets in touch. If you want to continue to use AT&T BAS, you will need a new AT&T SIM. You can order those from Amazon or you can probably get them from Walmart or Best Buy or any place that handles cell phones and SIMs. You want one for bring your own device (may say bring your own tablet or phone). Make sure you do not by one that is only micro or nano SIM. You need the larger SIM, may be one that you can take apart to get three different sizes.
Here are some examples. The first one is what you’d see in a store.
I’m pretty sure this will work although I don’t have personal experience with it.

Troy,
I've had the same exact issues. Ours expired in March and I'm just now getting around to getting it going again. Here's how I finally figured it out - I had to set up a completely new account with AT&T (att.com/buyasession) and presto, I was able to pick my plan and it began working immediately. Didn't have to buy a new SIM card, and cheaper plans when you go through AT&T than if you go through Spartan as well. Good luck!

I haven't had to create a new account but I have had to re enter the camera and SIM card information after the camera was not in use for an extended period of time. Also after ATT sunsets 3g those cameras will not work, there won't be an option to get data from anywhere else since ATT is killing the network.

I think what has happened for some people who don’t run their camera all year is that AT&T is requiring new passwords in order to log in to your account. However, if your camera has been idle for more than 60 days, it’s automatically deleted from your account. Therefore, when you try to log in and are asked for IMEI, phone number, whatever it is they ask for, you don’t have that because it’s no longer on your account.
Some people have gotten around it by creating a new account using a different email just like you did, Mike.
