Ok so I'm new to Spartan and cell cams in general... If I get a Verizon 1GB for 3 month plan is that 1GB per month for a total of 3GB or is that 1GB I have to stretch out over a 3 month period? Also does anyone know how much data is used per pic at the different resolutions? Like how many pics does it take at 3, 5, or 8mp to use up 1GB???

    That will be 1gb for three months total. The plans do auto renew if you run short data wise . He's an article on approx. data usage.

    Keep in mind that the camera sends thumbnails, either normal or large, not the full resolution pics unless you request them. If you use large thumbnails, you probably won’t need to request many HD photos. Videos use a fair amount of data, but you can request several without going over.

    Ok so now Im confused... Are you saying that the 3, 5, and 8mp settings are only for what is saved to the SD card and that the pic thats actually sent is smaller and uses less data???
    The 3, 5, and 8mp settings are the only options Ive seen. I havent noticed any small or large thumbnail size options. Please dumb it down for me the best you can lile I said these are my 1st cell cams... Im use to picking the highest quality image available and throwing in big sd cards so size wasnt ever an problem.

    Im just curious how many pics I can have sent to my phone with 1gb of data with different settings so I know how to go about setting it up without having huge "overages" and plan renewals

    That is correct and you want to set the camera to 5 mp since that's the size of it's sensor, 8mp is actually interpolated. If you look at the camera settings in the app you should see the option of a 640 thumbnail size and 1280 size. The 1280 will be a larger file than the 640 but but much smaller than the full sized 3,5 or 8mp image and also much clearer than the 640.
