The live stream camera isn't out  yet. That plug on the Ghost can be either for a solar connection, external 12v battery or combination of both.

Didn’t see an external power cord other than for the solar hookup.  Guess it could be modified.

Any standard 12V camera cable will work but the Ghost cables have a special threaded collar. Check with sales@spartancamera.com, please.

When will the live stream camera be available. I just purchased the ghost camera a week ago 9/27/20 thinking this was the live stream camera.

I didn’t buy the ghost just for the live stream, would have gotten it anyway , but thought it would be there.  Prob suck up memory and battery.

Why would the web site say this 12v can’t be direct connected if the ghost has a 12v direct external option ?

    Josh,

The GoLive is in field testing but there isn’t a release date or price yet.

hey Phil you wouldn't want to connect the battery directly to the camera because the camera would drain that battery to the point that it would damage the battery so there has to be some control circuitry in between to cut the power before the battery gets below a certain point say 11.5 volts.

What’s different about connecting a battery directly to a non ghost vs ghost ?  Been connecting directly to non ghost cams for 5 years etc... golf cart batteries go a year before needing to be recharged , the small 4.5ah I swap every 2 weeks recharge and swap.  Wouldn’t think 12v are any different, especially if a solar charger was also connected to the 12v.

I was worried about the cam being the issue vs the battery.  Got no response from spartan sales on the external 12v cable, unless the only one available is the one that connects to a solar panel And that one needs to be rigged direct to battery.

Probably nothing different if you're going to go grab it and recharge it frequently

Phil, the 6volt GoCams will stop working before the battery gets too low to damage the battery. With the Ghost system Chad is correct the camera will drain that battery so low it can cause damage.
