No new updates, checked camera and it's requesting that I insert a SIM

"New" (less than 6 months old) Camera w/ATT service worked until 11/4 - I uploaded a new pic on 11/4, then it stopped sending photos directly after the new video; was getting 60+ pics a day.  New lithium batteries are ~ 2 weeks old. 

Went out today and checked the camera (one of 3 the same age, and set up the same on the same property) and when turning it off, and then on to "set up" it says "no sim card, etc.,"

  Take the Sim card out and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser and see if that helps.

  It came back and I sent a hello test with success. I assume it's good to go now (?)

  Interesting remedy, I used that eraser trick from '01-'07 in the wireless field for battery problems with phones.  What's the root cause - Minimal oxidation on the SIM card from the temp changes/ humidity fluctuations and that prevents it from working correctly?

  I think that oxidation is normally the cause. Doesn't take much moisture inside to create it.

  Makes sense - I'll keep that in mind and try it first should it happen again.  I never thought about the SIM card doing that; thanks for the help!
