Ghost location

It may take a while to update. It updates once a day, I think. Also, it is not pinpoint accurate. My cameras appear to wander around within a couple hundred feet of where they are actually located.

Looks like after it took a pic it updated to about 50-100ft of where it is.  Interesting

Noticed in the set up functions there’s a slider for Camera Location , which is on.  There’s also a Camera Tracker , which is currently set to off.   If it’s moved to ON does take take up extra battery and what does it do ? Take periodic locations and store it ?

From the camera settings reference article in the Knowledge Base:

    Camera Tracker+

This enables Camera Locator even when the camera is OFF. Camera Locator must be on for this work.

(So if you want any shot at locating your camera if someone takes it, you want locator on.)

So if you want theft tracking , Camera Tracker has to be on with Camera Location on as well.

Wonder if takes more battery power to have the Camera Tracker to ON.

Little bit, yes. From what I can tell it's not that much though. The tracker/locator will run for a very long time on just the internal battery so it can't be using all that much power.

Few questions regarding the anti-theft features of the spartan GoCam.

    1. Will it track with the unit turned off?

    2. Does the antenna need to stay attached for the GPS to work?

    3. Do batteries need to stay in for the GPS to work?

If you have tracker and locator turned on in the camera settings the unit will continue to send it's locations with the camera turned off, the batteries removed and the antenna ripped off until the internal battery goes dead.
