Try working the switch back and forth a bunch of times really fast, might be some corrosion in it. I would also try a different new set of batteries.

Working the switch did not help and it does have new batteries, also I can set date or time manually

    Lenny,

Please try updating the firmware manually using the camera menu. If you can’t get it to work using the menu, use the Playback button method.

I only have about 30 sec after I turn camera on before it does a full reset , is that enough time to get to update firmware and to update it

All you can do is try it and see. You may have to use the Playback button method. It may be rebooting because there's a problem with the firmware.

Please email support@spartancamera.com or call 770-582-0004 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern M-F. This is a job for the tech support folks.

Have you tried a different SD card? SD cards can go bad and they can cause all sorts of weird problems that you’d think couldn’t possibly be caused by SD cards.
