Same here. 12 AAs installed and it says 10.6 volts. If I connect a 12v battery box it's happy.

Sometimes, a really fresh set of lithium batteries will have a high enough voltage that the camera thinks that it's a discharged 12V battery and the battery indicator will be empty.

So with the lithium AA batteries if 10.6 volts is 100% full then you would want to change them out when it gets down to 8.4 volts.

I read that article and it's confusing.   Are you saying if I installed brand new AA batteries the camera is reading the voltage incorrectly?  The batteries are good?  I don't want to put this camera out in the woods and 2 days later its dead.

You just need to watch the external voltage in the status report. like I said if it starts heading towards 8.4 volts for the external then it's time to replace lithium batteries. Is it showing you about 10.6 volts for external power right now?

    Internal reading 3.63.  External 0.00.

Yeah something is very wrong there maybe you have a battery in backwards or something double check everything and then call support. If you have a 12 volt battery box I would hook that up and get that internal battery charged back up.
