You can not add the GoLive and Ghost cameras to your ATT plans, you must get the data through Spartan. You will need to cancel that ATT plan and then get a Spartan plan and add the camera to your account. Usually the Spartan plans work out cheaper as well.

i don't think so - i had it working at one point. no way it's cheaper to add these to spartan when it's easy to add them at $20/month to my existing AT&T unlimited plan.

Without getting the registration code? I know sometimes the SIMS come with a small amount of data on them that will squeak out a picture or two, maybe that what happened. Register camera should be an option in the cameras menu.

The Ghosts and GoLives ship with SIMs that are not compatible with AT&T Buy-A-Session, but I don’t know about regular phone plans. You can use the ICCID to get a BAS plan but the camera won’t actually work with it.

Have you priced the Spartan plans recently? You can get 2G of data for 1 month for $36 and add that second camera for $5, for a total of $41. On your AT&T account, you’re paying $40 + at least $6 for premium, and there are probably some taxes and fees thrown in.

You may be able to work with less data and spend even less a month with the Spartan plans.

John - I think i did the registration code when I set that one up that worked - I wish I could get hard reset back to the setup mode to try again. it stopped working after I asked AT&T to fix the 2nd one.

Andrew, I just verified with tech support that you can not use the Spartan SIM on your ATT plan. They said the same thing that I thought, the SIM comes with a small amount of data that may allow you to register the camera and send a pic or two.

Here are the Spartan data plans. Unless you get a ton of pics and are going to do hours of live streaming, you may very well come out ahead with the Spartan plans. I’d try one of the one-month plans first to get a feel for how much data you’ll use, maybe do that for a couple or three months.

you know, after 2 of my cameras died, I thought I should just switch brands, but instead I chose to buy 2 new ones of these. thinking the better move is to find something else and return these. how can you co-brand with AT&T and not use existing plans is just a joke.

Name any other camera brand that allows you to put their AT&T model on your cell phone plan. All brands that I know of, you have to buy your data plan from the camera company.

With GoCams (but not Ghosts or GoLives), you can use AT&T plans, but you need a different SIM than the one that ships with the camera. It costs a lot less to use Buy-A-Session than it does to add them to your existing plan. With BAS, if you run your cameras all year, you can get 4G data/1 year/$75, then pay Spartan $36 for premium, or $111/camera/year.

You’ve said that it costs you $20/month to add to your AT&T plan, but is that for one camera or for both? That doesn’t include taxes/fees/surcharges, and there probably are those additional fees. If that’s for one camera, then you are paying $276 (or more, TFS) per camera. If it’s $20 for both cameras, then it’s $240 (plus TFS) and $72 to Spartan, or $312.

You may not even need that much data. It’s possible the 1G/3month/$36 plan would work. You’d pay $51 for two cameras for three months, so just a little over $200/year.

You may be able to use that 12 month/12 G/$200 plan and add a camera to it for a total of $260 and it includes premium. That’s less than you’d pay AT&T.

can I add the previous generation camera to this shared data plan? I still have 2 that work - I don't see it as an option when modeling which plan to choose.

Yes, you should be able to. If you are getting your data from AT&T, you'll need to get new SIMs for those cameras. On the portal, you'll log in, choose Camera Management, then Account, Shop, Data Services. You should have the option to add each camera to a plan.

If you need new SIMs, here's the link you can use to order them.

When you say previous generation, if you mean 4G GoCams, then you can add them. If you you are talking about the 3G GoCams, you won't be able to add them. AT&T is sunsetting 3G no later than 2/22/2022.

ok, so I ordered some SIMs from spartan to put in my 4g GoCams, but I cannot figure out how to add those sim numbers to my shared data plan. is there a KB article for that?

Put the SIM in the camera. Log in to my.spartancamera.com, Camera Management. From the Subscriptions menu, choose Data Services. On that page, choose +Activate Camera and go from there.
