Try defaulting the camera using the menu, if that doesn't fix it go into the menu and to diagnostics and see if it passes or fails the hello test.

thanks - no physical access to the camera at this point. it's at the hunting lease.

    Are you getting status reports?

up until 12 days ago. then they stopped. had the batteries changed out by someone onsite, they powered it up on facetime, shows connected to AT&T and still nothing.

Any chance they left it in set up?

Can you post a screenshot of the last status report from the camera? You may have to set your phone to desktop view to see the insert image icon.

Is that status report from when they were there changing batteries?

Something isn't right then, it should have sent a report when they were there messing with it. It might be the very old firmware

I would double check the data plan with ATT

interestingly, the data plan works - I put the SIM card in another device and it worked fine. i took it home and flashed the firmware, added yet another SIM and it now works.

by the way there are text files in the root of the SD card file system for each day - are those some type of diagnostic information? they are not readable characters when opened in a text editor...

Glad you got it figured out. I guess the SIM went bad somehow. Those are probably the error files you're seeing.

the SIM that didn't work in the camera worked elsewhere... is there a way to read those files so I can debug better on my own in the future?

Those files are for the engineers to decipher. You may want to let support know about this and see if they want those files.

What did you put the SIM in when you say it worked elsewhere?
