Try this, go into one of the cameras menus and to diagnostics and to APN, when you go into the APN screen it will ask for a password, it's 1 2 3 4 5 6. Change the APN to custom and enter vzwinternet , once that's entered press the OK button when asked to to save the change and back out to the main screen where you can see what the camera sees. Then turn the camera off for a few seconds and back to setup and see if it finds signal.

It’s still doing the same thing. It shows it has full service and has Verizon across the top of the screen. It will try to send and then says failed. I did the hello test again to and it’s failing that

Make sure that they activated it like a tablet and not like a cell phone. Should be $5 a month plus taxes and fees.

They should be fine, did you buy them from a store or ebay?

They should be good then. I would format them, then default the camera and as soon as it deafaults turn the camera off and then back to setup one more time

Iv went through everything on them. Spent 3 hours at Verizon yesterday afternoon as well and they couldn’t get them figured out. They have their technical support looking into it. Everything shows that they are active on their end and that they have service. The guy actually showed it to me in the computer. He even tried starting over with one and reactivating it and still nothing. Sucks having 5 cameras that aren’t working during the main time I need them!!

I called Spartan and the lady said I could mail them in and they would look at them and fix them if they are covered under warranty. I just really don’t want to be without the cameras during the main time I need them out.

You never got your data through Spartan for these correct?

That’s correct. These are through Verizon. I had these before Spartan offered data through them

Do you know who you spoke to at support that said to send them in?

It was some lady. I can’t remember her name right off. Iv been back on the phone with Verizon and they said everything is showing that it’s working on their end. What do you suggest I do now?

Any other help? This is very frustrating. Iv spent about 12 hours on the phone over these dang things with no resolution.

Tom I just helped another customer out and after his third phone call to Verizon they discovered they activated the cameras as if they were a cell phone and not a connected device like a tablet. They told him the same thing as you that they were connected and activated every time he called. For 5 cameras to be having issues (at least to me) it sounds like it has to be a Verizon problem. Do you run your cameras all year long?

Yes I do run them all year long. I did figure out something last night. I have a tactacam camera as well and I took the SIM card out of it last night and stuck it in one of my Spartans and it started working fine so apparently it has to be something with the sim. I’m fixing to go to Verizon shortly and see what I can get figured out.

I’m at Verizon now. Iv been here for about 2 hours lol. They’ve changed SIM cards out and all kinds of other stuff with no luck. Idk what’s going on. The lines are setup as a connected device so all that is good. I don’t understand why the SIM card out of my tactacam allows them to work but they can’t get them to work. I came to one of the main Verizon stores

Check the APN and if it's still at the custom vzwinternet change it back to what it was and if it's not at the vzwinternet then change it to that.

Also try formatting the SD card and defaulting the camera

If the Tactacam SIM works but the Verizon ones don’t, it’s something to do with how the SIMs/cameras are set up on your account.

Do the cameras take/send manual photos?

Theyre thinking it’s a SIM issue. Do you know if the Spartans are compatible with the SIM tri-a? They’re going to ship me some of the original SIM cards for them.

All 3 of mine have been doing the same thing. I went to Verizon and got new SIM cards for 2 of them and everything is up and going fine once the SIM card was replaced.

I should have my new SIM cards in the mail tomorrow so hopefully that will fix my issues!
