The cameras come with Spartan SIM cards, you need to get your data through Spartan. If you are trying to get your data a different way then you will need a new SIM card. Just be sure to check the plan pricing because a lot of times the carrier plans can be more expensive. Also if you get your data from the carrier then you will need premium credits through Spartan which are $3-$4 a month.

    Hi John,

I currently have the 3g cam which currently works great, but will go dead soon using the sartan credit and I have my att account. All I want to do is set up this new camera using the same setup. So I called att to add this camera and they said I need a different sim card. Is this not the case???????

It should work but like I said you may want to check the Spartan data plans. With the Spartan plans the premium credits are included so you don't have to deal with that and they also auto renew. What is the camera model?

It is a new gocam 4g/lte-at&t  gc-a4gb2-mo  We are saving 42% per year (att & credits) by doing it this way.

I just moved 6 AT&T cameras from Buy-A-Session to Spartan shared data plan and will be adding four more. For my ten cameras that don’t use a lot of data, it’s $740 a year and includes premium. It’s $750 a year to AT&T just for data, plus $360 for premium.

For one or two cameras, BAS may be more cost effective.

If you’re wanting to use BAS, you’ll need a bring your own phone or table SIM and you can get it just about any place you buy SIMs (Walmart, Best Buy, etc.).

It just started working using the spartan sim card but att is sending one of theirs just in case.

    Many thanks, Ed

The Spartan SIM cards come with a small amount of data on them so it's probably not going to work for long.
