Go Live Battery Life

The GoLive will use more battery since it's staying connected all the time to the network. If you have the live stream turned off in the camera settings on the app (and updated those settings) the GoLive should behave just like the Ghosts battery wise. What are the individual voltages for your Ghost camera, you don't add them together, they are separate numbers because of different power sources. How long was the GoLive out before you turned off the live feature? Are your battery type settings correct and the same for all the cameras?

    Hi John-

    The Ghosts show:

    1.) Internal Voltage 3.87v & External Voltage 10.16v

    2.) Internal Voltage 3.79v & External Voltage 10.35v

The Go live was in Live Mode for approximately 12hours before being turned off. (Synced at that time)

Battery type settings for all are set to AA.

OK, it's possible that the firmware update used more power on the GoLive if something was hung up. It's also possible that you may have gotten a bad battery. How long have the cameras been out? Are you requesting videos?

Keep an eye on it, that's a pretty good drop for that amount of time. It may have just been a fluke reading.

Does the app show the firmware as being current on the GoLive?

On the settings in my iOS app it shows the GO Live Firmware Update status as "Firmware is up to date" and DSP:2021/12/14-12:10:33

    Thank you for the support.

I will assure the batteries are good by replacing them and then will monitor the usage as compared to the Ghosts for a while.

In the event that this consumption persists, how can I proceed with a remedy?   I believe the warranty is still active.

You would need to get in touch with support and ask for an RMA to send the camera back to be looked at (support@spartancamera.com) The cameras have a 2 year warranty. Also it can't hurt to change the SD card just to rule that out.

I will swap that as well and go from there.

    Thanks again for your support.

For informations sake and to help others that may come along and find this-

I tested the batteries that were removed from the Go Live. Each energizer lithium AA tested at 1.59-1.60v on a multimeter. New ones out of the package test around 1.79-1.80.

    The SD card was replaced

Battery life seems to be on track now after approximately the same time period as I noticed the drop at above.

Will report back once I’m confident that everything is good to go. As of now though, it appears to ok.

    Hello trapper.
Just a comment from a fellow Golive user. I've experienced the same issue. I have mine now hooked up to external power source. No solar panel , just a lifepo4 12v 12Ah lithium battery. This setup is a stud. No more working about battery's. At about 30-35$ for the 12 AA lithium, you be saving money after just a few battery changes. I think I have approximately 100$in my set up including buying the battery, purchasing the Golive power cable, and a waterproof box . The only downfall is having the extra box to pack in. In my opinion it's well worth the money and effort.

I am happy to report that approximately 1 month later the voltages read 3.81V and 10.5V with approximately 10-15 pictures per day for the entire month.
