Verizon SIM Card Activation Not Working

Yes, it will void the warranty. You may want to talk to Spartan support. However, there’s no good reason that you can’t add the camera to your Verizon cell plan using the SIM that’s already in the camera.

Thanks Elizabeth. So there is bit more to the story I didn’t mention, I attempted to register my camera online, it had me enter my IMEI #, which I did, but never prompted me for my SIM #, which I didn’t know at the time, being new to this process. So I processed the order. Later, I look at my account and noticed a SIM card on my order. I attempted to cancel the order, but the maximum time had passed (30min) to cancel an order. So the way Verizon explained it, a new SIM was assigned to my IMEI # and they can’t change it, for whatever reason. So, if I send the camera back to Spartan, will they install the newly assigned SIM card?

I am currently dealing with the same issue. I deleted my camera from my plan in the off season, and when i went back to re-activate it for deer season, it keeps telling me my ICCID # is already active. I have purchased two new SIM cards and they both throw the same error message. I don't know what to do.

    Terry,

You need to talk to someone else at Verizon. The person you are talking to does not know what s/he is talking about. They most assuredly can assign a different ICCID to the IMEI. SIMs go bad and have to be replaced. All they have to do is go into their database and enter the ICCID for the SIM that’s in the camera.

    Seth,

Are you putting the cameras on your Verizon phone plan or Spartan data plans? Where did you get the new SIMs? If you are using Verizon data, you need to talk to Verizon. If you are using Spartan data, you need to talk to Spartan support.

Well currently i don't have a data plan because i cant add the camera back to my account on Spartans website. I haven't ever activated it through Verizon. It has always been through Spartan. So, in that case, should I still be trying to get in touch with Verizon? I have tried calling Spartan several times but it just goes to voicemail. And can't get legitimate help through the support tickets..they just keep saying I need a new SIM card. The one i just got and tried without success came directly from Spartan.

Seth, if you haven't try deleting the camera completely from your Spartan account and add it back like a brand new camera

I have the same issue. I bought a new Go live 2 and cannot get activated via Verizon. No help from spartan either. Waste of my money. Verizon get the error saying this sim is connected with another phone line.

This is really frustrating after spending all the money.

Make sure that IMEI number on the cameras info screen is the one that they are using. ICCID number should be there as well, make sure it matches what they are trying to use. Is the camera new or used?

    • Yes I am using Camera IMEI and ICCID. The camera was bought via HERD your dealer. Spent 3 days with Verizon and still not able to activate.

Send an email to support@spartancamera.com and let them know what's going on and I would also contact Mike at herd and see what he says. Was this supposed to be a brand new camera or was it a test.used camera from Mike?

Verizon told me that they cannot do anything since the ICCID is linked to another device ID and I need a replacement camera

You do not need a replacement camera, you might have to send it back to Spartan to get a new SIM card installed though. Did Verizon activate the camera as a phone first instead of a connected device like a tablet?

That is what Verizon told me. Either get a new sim from Spartan or get a new camera.  I already have 3 Spartan cameras with Verizon and no issues. So they know the process.

I'm sure they do but mistakes happen, by chance did they activate it wrong the first time? It's not always the same person doing the activations so it's easy to hit a wrong button, especially when they are used to doing mostly cell phones.
