Sunset is 2/2022 not next month.

3G models are ATTb, ATTi, ATTxb, and ATTxi

Good point on 2022.  But they won't let  me buy data currently. It says "we are no longer activating 3G data only devices because our network will no longer support them after February 22, 2022. See www.att.com/3gmigration for more information. Please complete your activation with a compatible 4G LTE, 4G or 5G device instead." I guess they are now obsolete.

Interesting. I renewed two 3G plans in November, for a year. That was a renewal, though, not a new activation.

Liz, I think “activating” is the key on this. I renewed a 3g data plan on Buyassession on January 3rd.

I just renewed two 3Gs.   Guess they are stopping new sims using 3 G.

my 3GS are all dying anyway , literally every month one goes down.  They are 5 yrs old which isn’t bad I guess for 24-7-365.

I had another one to yesterday , will buy a basic 4G to replace it today.  They aren’t too expensive to get the low end 4G.

While it’s no fun to have to spend money, the current models do have faster trigger, more powerful flash, and can transmit video, so there’s that. I’m still running a couple of the old, old 3G models (one ATTb, one ATTi) and four of the ATTxb (plus one VZWb).

Flashes are way better on the 4s and signal as well....and vid.   Signal on a 3G is zero in some spots and all bars on the 4G same spot.

Agree on the new cameras. The service is far superior and much better quality cameras.  I just wish I had known that they were gonna quit allowing an activation this week. Luckily, I activated 5 of my older ones prior to the change. Unfortunately, I have another 5-8 that I won't be able to activate.  Oh well, it'll be fine.  Ordered 4 new Spartans yesterday from my usual vendor.
