Make sure that you activated the SIM card correctly. the orange/yellow SIM cards get activated through ATT buy a session, the white SIM cards get activated through Spartan.

With the camera in setup and online, on the fourth (wireless) tab, under Diagnostics, choose Hello test. What happens?

I tried to use a SIM card that I already had activated but it was wrong plan. Seems to be working fine now.

How do you activate a second camera's sim card. My second camera registered the first time and now will not register or pass the hello test. Sending a test picture also gets a 'fail'.

    Rodfather001,

What model camera? If the camera registered, the SIM should already have been active. If the camera won’t pass the hello test, it’s not going to send a test pic.

Rodfather if it's an ATT camera make sure you registered the SIM correctly. New ATT cameras are shipped with a Spartan SIM card, it's white instead of the ATT yellow/orange and needs to be activated with Spartan, not through ATT buy a session.

Just so I'm clear you have two cameras, one that has been working and one that you just got and that's the one you are trying to activate the SIM card for?

Basicly, Yes. The first one is up and running, (not sending emails, but im using the ap so I get pictures.)

The second camera, when I went through the add a camera process on the Spartan web site, registered at first, but now fails test, register and camera. I did not register the second simcard , not sure how to

The SIM card should have come in a sleeve with instructions on how to activate it.

If you bought a month of premium ($4), that’s not data service. Do you have data service for your camera? What model is it (GC-what)?

GC-A4Gb-64443... I paid $12 for the 1 month 250 MB through the spartan website and received a receipt through email. I did not do it through att website because the instructions in the box said that with this SIM card that it came with to activate it through spartan website. Now, when I click add camera I have everything but the registration code, which I can't get because my camera won't show it. When I open up setup, it says searching network and then no SIM found. I do have a premium credit active account. Do I have to go to att and get an additional data service?

Okay, you have the Spartan data plan, which is data and premium bundled together.

Have you made sure the SIM is properly seated in the slot? That message about not finding a SIM means that either the SIM isn’t seated or you have a defective one. I’d remove and reinsert the SIM.

Once the camera is online (showing the carrier and bars), try doing the hello test. On the fourth tab, scroll down to Diagnostics and choose the Hello test. If it fails, the camera isn’t online. If it passes, then you’ll want to try Register to get the regcode that you need to add the camera to your account on the portal.

I got the “sim not found” issue and I read these forums and found my issue was the sim was not seated properly. I either have a defective sim or defective camera, but I was able to get it fixed with some fiberglass tape. I had to use several small pieces of cut up fiberglass tape on the inside of the cover right over the sim to push the sim in further and hold it in place. After doing this it seems to work. Will he contacting Spartan for a warranty claim as this is not how it’s supposed to work

Adam, did you try cleaning the contacts on the SIM with a pencil eraser?

You might also try putting a piece of cellophane tape on the back side of the SIM.
