Battery
Does the 4g cameras eat a lot more battery life? It sure seems that way to me. With 12 AA plus the 6 volt box it’s only lasting about 3 weeks. Not taking a lot of phots maybe 25 per day.

My fresh AA BATTERIES WERE INSTALLED 3 days ago on my 2 g4 cameras. Remote location but service is decent. Usually 2 bars. Sometimes 3.
One camera took about 200 photos now shows P3
The other camera took about 30 pics now shows P3.
What could possibly be wrong.
I had a 3g camera at one of these location for about 3 years and the battery life was always good for 3 months usually -
I have 8 4g cameras out and they do nothing but eat batteries. I do not recommend these cameras unless you own stock in a battery company!!! I put new batteries in 3 cameras last week and they are already showing 2 bars left. Also, once my cameras reach 2 bars of service they no longer send me pics, only stores them on the card...9hrs from me.

What model camera? GC-what? Is the firmware current? Do you have Power Saving ON? What setting are you using, photo only (and how many), photo + video, video only?
What type of batteries are you using? Is it cold where the cameras are located?
Since your cameras are so far away, you may want to consider using external batteries, with or without solar. That's not saying that 200 pics on a set of batteries is normal because it is not, but relying in batteries to power distant cameras is likely to result in frustration and disappointment. You're basically hanging a cell phone on a tree.
