If your camera has been working fine and suddenly stop working, the following are a few things you want to check before you contact Spartan Camera technical support team:
- Power. This may be caused by dead batteries. Check the P number on the last a few photos you received, both day-time and night-time. The P number is located on the lower right corner of the image. P5 means the battery is good. If you see P3 or P1 or even P0, that means your batteries are about to die. Sometimes, you may still see P5 but if P3 or below ever appears, it's the time to change the batteries.
- Data service. Please check your data service to make sure the data service is current. If your data service is expired, the camera can't connect to the cellular network to send the pictures.
- Premium credit. If you are using the web portal or mobile app, please make sure you have enough credit. Each camera, each month will consume 1 credit. If you set the camera up new, the first month is free so your camera will work for one month and then stop if you don't purchase more credit. Please click here for more information about the premium credit.
- SD card. A bad SD card or one that is not "to spec" can cause the camera not to send photos. The SD card should be name brand, standard size, class 10, and preferably 80 MB/s or faster. It also needs to be formatted in the camera, which you can do remotely from the Status Report page of the app for new model cameras. For more information on SD cards, use this [Link].
