Due to an unforeseen configuration change during AT&T’s recent 3G network shutdown, some AT&T 4G LTE capable devices have experienced a loss of service due to an incorrect Access Point Name (APN) configuration. This error has affected some of our AT&T camera models, including the AT&T 4G LTE GoCam (GC-A4Gb, GC-A4Gb2, GC-A4Gc2), AT&T 4G LTE Ghost (GST-ALTEb), and AT&T 4G LTE GoLive (GL-ALTEb).
In order to resolve this issue, Spartan Camera has been given a set of instructions by AT&T to reconfigure your camera’s APN configurations. The reconfiguration is a manual process; you will need to have your camera(s) in hand in order to reset the APN.
Troubleshooting Before Changing the APN
If your camera continuously has issues connecting to the network, you may need to perform an APN reset in order to restore connectivity. This is a rare occurrence and should only be done if you have gone through all other troubleshooting steps with connecting your camera to a network.
Before you reset the APN, check to see if:
- Your firmware is up to date
- Your camera is connected to a data plan
- You have Premium Credits on your account
- You are using the correct SD card for your camera model
- You have a high cell signal in your area
- You have reset your camera to its factory settings
If you have done these previous steps and your camera’s connectivity is not restored, you may need to reset your APN settings.
